STUDY PLAN 

A Preparatory Course will run from mid March to early September. All students must complete these courses to the satisfaction of SWU BEFORE coming to Nottingham in September. The main purposes of the course are to help students transfer from SWU to Nottingham, to complete the General Education studies and to have a chance to join first year activities with other medical students in the normal programme.

Preparatory Course (Mid March – Early September)

  • Study Basic Sciences for Medicine and General Education subjects at SWU

Year 1 (Mid September – mid June)

  • Study Biomedical Sciences at Nottingham

Year 2 (Mid September – mid June)

  • Study Biomedical Sciences at Nottingham

Year 3 (Mid September – mid June)

  • Study Biomedical Sciences at Nottingham during the first semester (September – February) and return to SWU to join the clinical course starting in March. Complete B.Med.Sci. requirement by the end of June.

Receive a Bachelor Degree of Medical Sciences, B.Med.Sci (University of Nottingham)

Year 4 (April - March)

  • Study clinical courses at SWU

Year 5 (April - March)

  • Study clinical courses at SWU

Year 6 (April - March)

  • Study clinical courses at SWU

Receive a Doctor of Medicine degree, M.D. (Srinakharinwirot University)

The Joint Medicine Programme is a double degree programme. Students will receive a B.Med Sci degree from the University of Nottingham and the M.D. from Srinakharinwirot University. After completion of study at Nottingham, all students must return to SWU to complete their medical studies. Students will not be able to stay on at Nottingham for their clinical undergraduate training.
